2021 Great Dames Scholarship Program

Great Dames was invited by Dr. LaVerne T. Harmon, President, Wilmington University, to award a full-tuition, four-year scholarship to the university, beginning in the 2021-22 academic year. The scholarship was awarded to a graduating female senior who applied and was selected via a competitive process.

Annum Nashra

has been awarded a full scholarship to Wilmington University by

Congratulations to Annum Nashra, an Aspiring Dame from Bangladesh. Annum applied as part of a competitive process and was awarded a full tuition, four-year scholarship by the Great Dames Board selection committee. Annum is an excellent student, a curious global citizen, and a participant in the World Academy for the Future of Women. She’s an outspoken teen advocate of women and girls, who is on her way to leading powerful change in the world.

We’re thrilled to welcome Annum Nashra to the Wilmington University Class of 2025!

Program Guidelines & Priorities:

  • We’re seeking a graduating female senior with a record of volunteerism in the community, strong academic performance, participation in extracurricular school activities, and financial need.

  • Applicants must plan to attend and complete their undergraduate degree at Wilmington University.  Scholarship expires by August 2026. 

  • Applicants must have the endorsement of their Guidance Counselor on their application attesting they are qualified for this scholarship program.

  • Applications must be received by Great Dames, Inc by May 14, 2021.  Late or incomplete applications will not be accepted.

  • Scholarship will be awarded during May 2021.

    Application Checklist:

    1. Please review the entire application and related documents that must be submitted to us before you begin the process.

    2. Please complete the online application. NOTE: the online application must be completed and submitted in one sitting so be sure to review it before you start.

    3. In addition, the following 4 documents must be submitted by mail to: Great Dames, Inc, 318 Queen Street, Philadelphia, PA 19147.

    • Your personal statement (included in info packet)

    • Signed endorsement of high school guidance counselor (included in info packet)

    • A letter of recommendation from an adult (non-relative)

    • Official copy of high school transcript or GED certificate.

NOTE: Incomplete applications will not be considered. 

DEADLINE: ONLINE APPLICATION AND ADDITIONAL 4 DOCS MUST BE SUBMITTED BY MAY 14, 2021.
